This year we have seen drought hit rural areas once more. Many in Australia know how severe drought can be. Here in Swaziland it is a killer. Animals die, harvests are low (or non existent) and water in springs and dams are compromised and then disappear.
The repercussions have been severely felt, resulting in health problems, increased travel time to find suitable water and dry land causing a lack of suitable soil for cultivating crops.
Some of the families we have been serving have struggled deeply. As a result Operation Hope has decided to install 5000 litre water tanks into the most vulnerable families we work alongside and fill them with clean water until the summer rains come.
Our builder has been working hard to finish them with a few more left to be installed.
A donation of $450 will provide a family with a 5,000 litre water tank. Included in this investment is a tap lock, delivery and installation on a block and concrete base (pictured below).
What an amazing job you guys do for the beautiful people of Swaziland.
